Excursion to the city of Mtskheta

Let’s go to Mtskheta. We will visit the Jvari temple, built in Vl. The temple stands on a high mountain, offering amazing views. Jvari is the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Georgia. Then we will visit the Xl c. Cathedral. Svetitskhoveli. Here is buried one of the main Christian shrines – the Chiton of the Lord. Next is the Samtavro Convent.

Then we will visit Shio Mgvime. The monastery was founded by the hermit Shio in the Vl century. Until now, the existing monastery attracts tourists and pilgrims with its unusual architecture and history.
